I am trying to determine the sliding distance of a lumped mass (SDOF system) under a periodic load. I am using a one-joint link (friction-pendulum isolator) where I have specified the radius of curvature to be zero. I have specified a stiffness for u1 and u2 (is u2 zero since it is sliding?). However, when I modify the coefficient of friction (slow and fast) results remain unchanged. Please help on how to model coulomb friction in SAP!
