Hello all, New guy here who happened across this site in search of knowledge about linear bearings. Very excited about finding these type forums available, bet I'll be a frequent visitor.
Hope some of you can shed light on the following.
I have a new design linear actuator that I want to use a "frelon" type linear plain bearing on the output shaft. The output shaft will be 5/8" anodized aluminum specific for use with coated bearings.
Igus offers their "iglide" bearings in a number of different materials along with their "Drylin" aluminum shafting. Igus application worksheets are very specific in bearing recomendation for my conditions.
The "frelon" bearings are offered on every street corner it seems as a do all solution for linear motion.
I have looked at those offered by Pacific Bearing along with their "Feathershaft" aluminum shafting.
Is bearing selection all that crucial or should I just use a generic coated bearing and generic anodized shafting?
Thanks to all, Larry (donduck)
