I am reviewing specifications for manufactured housing within the Southern Indiana area. I have came across a question regarding the withdraw resistance for piers. The information is coming from the HUD Permanent Foundations Guide for Manufacutured Housing.
I calculated the required vertical anchorage (Av=1190lbs) with inland wind speed to 80mph and pier spacing at 8' on page B-58. However, I check that against the withdraw resistance longitudinal continuous foundations on page C-5 is get 245 plf, with hw=2'-8" and footing width=12".
My question is do I divide the 1190 lbs by the 8' spacing to get a plf? This way I can compare it to the 245 plf and my reisitance will pass.
Any help would be appreciated.....Thanks!!
