When we make a new sheetmetal part and drop a custom forming tool feature onto the sheetmetal part we get a message box that says "Are you trying to create a derived part" If we answer no it opens the tool by itself. If we answer yes it drops the tool in as a solid at the origin of the part.

We have one machine however that drops the forming tool onto the sheetmetal part as it should.

We can't figure out why it works on one machine but not our others. Is there a setting or option we need to select for the forming tool to work? Any idea what might be causing this?

In your design library. Right click on the forming tools folder and make sure that there is a checkmark indicated next to "Forming Tools Folder" in the pull-down. If there is no checkmark next to it, click on it to activate that folder as a Forming Tools folder.

I just moved the forming tool from the network drive to the local drive and it worked fine.

What would cause it not to work from the network drive?

jksolid - It worked!!!
