Hi,

I want to know how to determine the contact area between the forklift tire and ground if the forklift specs:
Tyre Type Pneumatic)
Tyre Size 9.00-20-14PR (I)
Number of Wheel(Front/Rear (x=driven)) 4x/2

First, the best place to get that info is from your tire supplier.

But if you want a quick and dirty method and do not care about technical accuracy, try using the load on the tire divided by the inflation pressure.

Please note: that this method is WRONG, and may yield an answer that is off by a factor of 2 (based on what information I have seen on the subject).

Be careful to remember this if you use this method.
