I am currently negotiating my rate for inclusion in a design build proposal for some work in Kabul.

I would appreciate if anyone with experience in the area could advise me of the going rate or multiplier for domestic rate for work in that area.

Position Construction Site manager with profit and loss responsibility, 25+ years experience with P.Eng and MBA credentials.

If anyone has any links to similar positions with rate I’d really appreciate that as well.

I know that the US Army Corps of Engineers is paying 25% foreign plus 25% location increases over normal US rates but would like a little more ammunition to proceed with my discussions.

Thanks in advance

If you can negotiate payment in your own currency, do it. Most of the adders people talk about are to protect them from currency fluxuation.

I once had the misfortune of being in a country when they devalued their currency (relative to the US dollar) to 25% of the value at the start of the week. I made a bunch of local currency on that job, but it wasn't worth much at home.
