The company is installing a lot of new transformers and switchgear at the moment. As there are hundreds of components in this equipment I am looking for a method of determining which spares should be kept on site. Can anyone offer some guidance?

To the first order, you should obviously stock parts are have low reliability.

Next, you need to look at parts are are moderately reliable, but have either excessive procurement or other delays.

Third, you need to look at how much downtime you can tolerate. This may actually be first, particularly if your system cannot be allowed to go down for more than a few minutes. TTFN
