Flow switch for water piping flow measurement

On site we have a water piping for cooling water where we monitor the flow with flow switch that use the differential temperature methos. we have faced repeatidly failures with wrong signals. Can you propose another type or even a vendor to have flow signal from switches installed on a thread of the piping?

delta T for a flow switch? Thermal dispersion, maybe? Many designs can be fooled by rapidly changing temperature of the medium.

Avoid the thin flapper type that use wafer thin SS piece that deflects, because the flapper always breaks and ends up downstream where you don't want it. There are heavier duty impact types that hold up well.

FCI is among the better flow switches and uses temperature technology.

Consider a flow transmitter instead. Most companies are moving from discrete measurement signals like flow or pressure switches to transmitters. With a transmitter you can tell when the transmitter fails more easily than when a switch fails. The transmitter provides more information and a much better measurement for flow.
