we have an extruder that I installed new gear pump on and now the temp stabilized pressure compensated flow control valve runs the opposite as it did before. Thanks for any info

Is the flow control a three-port bypassing valve with no reverse check valve? Someone mixed up connections to the P and bypass port and it is operating backwards.

Not sure its a racine mfg #51850 pump from the 60's or 70's I have not been able to find any info on it to know how it works. It worked fine before the pump was changed.I also read that if inlet flow drops before discharge flow then it can reverse direction, not sure how true that is. Thank you for the response.
