Looking into building a pump station in a floodplain - bad practice but is there any Methods used? already looked at providing bunds around the perimeter of the PS, and also raising the hieght of the slab, and manhole, and waterproofing the kiosk.

It is not uncommon. You also do not state what you are pumping in your station.

One thing that is imperative is that you definitely need to make sure all of the pump motors are above the maximum flood elevation.

A number of New Orleans pump stations were recently flooded with the aftermath of Katrina. Why don't you research those for lessons learned.

If you are using a wet well you can use submersible pumps, but you must make sure the wet well won't flood, as well as the control center, and stand-by power system. Don't forget to throw some freeboard on the maximum flood elevation.
