Hello All
I prepare a floatong head heat exchanger calculatiobn acc to ASME VIII part UHX-14 with Visual Vessel Design program
In tubesheet calculation I have a position: "correction factor to account for radial differential thermal expansion fT"
Do you know what value should be written ? I can not find it in part UHX
Value 0 is not correct, values 1-100 doesn't have big influence on result
Tubes are expanded with two grooves

Thanks
Michael

MichaelDexter, I beleive you wil find fT defined in Non-Mandatory Appendix A. I don't know how it may be implemented in your software.

Regards,

Mike

The problem with sloppy work is that the supply FAR EXCEEDS the demand

Thank you very much. Yes it is simple, I use the ASME codes very seldom and it is my explanation.
For fR I tried values from 1 to 1100 and was without influence on result in %. Now I can calculate correct fR
Thanks again !!

CuMo, new content added for '19, excellent, thx.

How can you design HEXs to ASME using software, if you seldom use the code? Is it because you master the copy that much (which doesn't makes sense, but nonetheless), or because the software normally does all the work for you? How do you know the software is correct?
