Flexible Neoprene sheet

Hi Experts,


We are going to do TSA (Thermal Spray aluminim) of 10" Natural gas line which runs in pipe rack and has many contact points, after TSA we are supposed to place Neoprene sheets to avoid crevice corrosion. Line operates at 60 deg. C. Material is NACE Grade. We have seen lots of pitting attack on HAZ areas of the welds.
Could anyone provide me with details about flexible Neoprene sheet, which must not tear apart under load or under direct sunlight?
 
Neoprene sheet has been used to isolate pipelines from pipeline supports to prevent current drain in cathodic protection systems, and you can go as low as 3mm thick sheet for that purpose. I have not heard of issues with direct sunlight.

Just out of curiosity, may I ask why you're using TSA?
 
Neoprene though won't take point loads or friction which is what you imply or are you using this as a barrier between the pipe and a clamp type support piece which then bears on your support? If you're using it a a barrier between the pipe and say a bar type sliding support you need PTFE or something hard, not neoprene.

A sketch or cross section of the pipe with the neoprene would help a lot.
