I have a hinge assembly that is made up of 3 components: 2 leafs and 1 pin. In the hinge assembly, I have constrained the 3 components so that the hinge is laying flat. I would like to bring this hinge in to another assembly and constrain it to a part but be able to override one of the leafs constraints so that it can be constrained to another part. Essentially, the hinge would not be in a flat state, but swiveled about the pin into a v-shape. Is this possible, and if it is, could someone step me thru the process? I am an old UG/NX user and a new Pro-E user.

Thanks,
C Graves

Note this is for Creo 5.0

1) Open ???file???.ASM that you want to bring the hinge into
2) In the Model Tree, Right Click on HingeFileName.ASM, pick Make Flexible
3) In the Varied Items Dialog Box, choose dimensions, then choose left.prt from the Model Tree.
4) Choose the 180 degree dimension and OK. It should now be added to the Dialog Box
5) Change the New Value to 90. Then OK.
6) To change the angle value in the future, right click on the Hinge.ASM in the Model Tree: Edit Definition.
7) In the Dashboard, choose the Flexibility Option/Varied Items and Enter a New Value.
