Hi Guys
I attended a safety meeting recently where a colleague shared an incident involving an LCV passing thus allowing a flare KO-drum to fill uncontrollably.
He cited the potential consequences of this could involve the flare line overfilling (on HI level trip failure) causing liquid to exit through the flare tip onto the process below (i.e. raining fire).
Personally I am not sure whether this is feasible/realistic (due to the height of the flare tower) and my question is...has anyone got any experience or knowledge of this ever happening in industry?
