From a mining source, i have found the LEL and MOC (flammability limits) of vapors at 1 atm, however, my goal is to generate a curve, with LEL as a function of pressure.

Does anybody know how LEL changes with pressure?

Thanks!

Good luck with that. I've been looking for it off and on for nearly 20 years with no success. I've seen something like 50 PhD thesis on the subject, but they contridict each other pretty dramatically. They all agree that the LEL goes down, UEL goes up, and Autoignition temp goes down with increasing pressure, but the magnitude of the change is very different from researcher to researcher.

Good answer, zdas04.

There's also a wide variation between gases, which gets much wider as pressure gets higher.

Let us know how you work it out!!

Good on ya,

Goober Dave
