Dear allI have a question regarding the welding of unequal wall thicknesses for butt welding fittings in accordance to the ASME B31.3.
As I have verified for pipes and fittings ASME B31.8 and B31.4 permitt the welding of unequal wall thicknesses only if the max walll thickness is not higher than 1 1/2 t min.
About B31.3 reference is made to ASME B16.25 but on this standard i don't have found anything that consider the welding of unequal thicknesses.Could someone help me to understand if for ASME B 31.3 unequal wall thicknesses could be welded without restrictions on maximum wall thicknesses?
regards Vincenzo
