Hi,

I am working in the Fishing and drilling tools department and I am tasked to find out the right spec for OD tolerances required for these tools becaus apparently there is a need for the operator to kow these values.

I cannot find the API specs on the api website. I want to find the right Specification to refer to the wear tolerances in the service manual.

I am right to say that the OD wear allowances for drilling tools especially will be the same or similar to the drill collars or drill stem elements in spec 7-1 since drilling tools form part of the family (drill stem elements)etc...

any help suggestions would be very helpful!

Regards.

Fishing tools are relativley unique (even some "one of") so I would be suprised if API has any standards. You have to rely on the mfgr; although you could have your own "go- no go" gauges for the tool OD.
