Good Day to all,

This is my first posting and I'm feeling rather invigorated for the outcome this posting may generate.

Question, a hydrant has been flow using the pumper port (4 inches). This pumper port has been fitted with a 2.5 inches reduced down fitting (from 4 inch to 2.5inch). My question to the forum is. Should I be using the flow table for a 2.5 inch port or the 4 inches port or is there a mathematical equation to calculate the equivalent flow of a 4 inches port.
I am confused, please help?

Thank you

What is the difference hydraulically between a 4-inch port that has been reduced to 2.5-inches and one of the 2.5-inch ports?

Tazu,

It depends on where your flow sensor is located...

Can you provide us a aketch with approximate dimensions? It's hard to visualize what you're asking.

Good on ya,

Goober Dave
