Hello,

I am stuck on something from past few days.
I am doing simulation of hollow cylinder in comsol. I found the eigen frequencies of the model, but the question is how can i find radial and axial mode of the model. I am not able to find any way out.

Your first radial mode is +1r in cylindrical coordinates, and axial +1 x at one end and -1x at the other.

You need to look at the mode shapes

But i have am stuck again on other point. What is the exact formula for calculating radial and axial mode of the cylinder.

If i am not wrong then formula to calculate the radial mode is sqrt(E/Ro)/2*pi

where E is the young's modulus
Ro= Density

But i am not so sure about the formula. Moreover, My model is like cylinder but it is made of two different metals, what my formula will be to calculate the first radial and axial mode here.
