Lets say I have an Electric Gear Drive Motor.
The electric motor is rated at 95% and the gear box is rated for 90% efficiency.
I want to know the final efficiency of the Motor coupled with gearbox.
I think the final efficiency wud be
final efficiency = gear box efficiency * electric motor efficiency.
Is this true. One thing I know for sure it can not be greater than the two and it has to be the lower than the least of the two. There fore you can not take average nor the average of their square roots as in Uncertainity.
