I have the following basic case:

|===a===b->>

at a I have a force F. at b I have the same force in the opposite direction and a moment around the x axis

Now, using catia generative part structural analysis, how would you model this? Particularly, how would you model the force at point a?
I am considering replacing the forces at a and b with a moment around the z axis at point a but am unsure how to apply this moment and whether it would be a correct procedure?

Hi,
I know nothing about CATIA FEM but I have to warn you about this general pointr:
if you replace the forces with a moment, you will take into account the bending moment, but you will loose any information about the shear forces.
Take a minute to draw the diagrams of T, M, sigma, tau; it's an isostatic case, so very easy.

Regards
