FYI;
The web site below is probably one of the best at providing a decent background on high and low cycle fatigue of materials, what effects fatigue life and an actual fatigue life calculator. This site was developed by a Professor at the U of IL (which I can claim as one of the best engineering schools in the US). The seminar notes provided under the links are very informative.

metengr,
This is an excellent site and I note that it has contributors from UCSD that I've recommended several times for their stress concentration factor calculator.

It is amazing to me that Dr Socie and group have been able to bring these calculations down to such a level that they can be presented in such a manner.

The comparison of this calculator to our earliest computer program ,386 days, is something else. I have just sent the link to the engineer what had ownership of the original program and who had to spend a couple of days setting up each problem ran with a request for his opinion.

Thanks,

unclesyd

metengr,

I agree that UofI is one of the best. I am probably somewhat biased by being an alum... Go Illini!

How does one get UCSD and U of Il (U) to cooperate?

Play basketball.
