Hi,

I am creating a model for an I steel girder with connecting many parts. I meshed the assembly, but I couldn't assign a structured Quad mesh.
Will it affect the result if I conduct the analysis using a non-structured mesh as you can see in attachments?
By the way, is it better to mesh the assembly or each part aside?

In many cases structured mesh can be used after partitioning. However some models are too complicated to use this type of mesh. It's absolutely normal to use non-structured mesh in such case (as long as its quality is not too low).

When it comes to the second question - it's up to you. You can use dependent or independent instances, whichever is more convenient for you.
