Face Blend Transition - NX 8.5.1.3 1

Hello,

During the Face Blend operation I get the sharp transition between the blends.How to overcome this?
Any suggestion would be a great help.

I'm not exactly sure what you were expecting, but if the radius of the blend being created is equal to or greater than the radius of the concave blend on the vertical interior corner, the result will ALWAYS be a "sharp transition". That's just the way a so-called 'rolling-ball' blend works.

Any other type of blend can work here for getting the smoother transition?

OR

How to remove these sharp transition from the Surface body ? Any workaround?

As I explained, that's just the way blends work. It's a matter of size not type. You would have to reduce the radius of the new blend to something LESS than that of the concave face of that inside corner. Otherwise it's not a blend but something else, which you will need to construct using some other technique. Can you provide at least a picture of what you're looking for?

To get a "smoother transition" the only thing you can really do is increase the size of the vertical fillet.
 
If you can manage to use edge blend and add corner set back rather than face blend, then you can achieve much nicer results as shown in the image.

Create the blends as Face Blends (do not Attach, possibly do not Trim), then apply Styled Corner. Trim, Sew and Patch to the solid. It just all depends on surface quality requirements as to which route you should choose. Typically, the more complicated the surface, the more steps required to create it.

As John posted if all the blends are the same size the result will always be a sharp corner. Is there a reason the blend sizes couldn't be different or is this too difficult to manage (as in a complex part with a lot of corners)?
