I understood that the Pre-set design internal pressure for your tank shall be adjusted base on the MIN(PF.4.1 , PF.4.2).
That is clear; if my tank is going to be mechanically-anchored; should ignore the value of calculated PF.4.2 & adjust the Tank design internal pressure base on PF.4.1 Only?

Also, I understood that the Pressure failure limitation (F.4.3) is NOT required in case your tank having Non-frangible joint?

The F4.1 is limited based on top angle area.
The F4.2 is based on the tank being unanchored and does not apply to anchored tanks.
The F.4.3 applies to any tank but will generally only control if roof slope and design pressure are low.

Eng. MohdYaseen2010 ,

What is your opinion , if internal pressure exceed the weight of the shell, roof and attached structural elements ,and if anchors not provided does it fly like a balon?..

Dear JStephen;

Thanks for your respond.

F.4.2 assessed for anchorage concerned to the internal pressure only, others stability is covered in Basic Design Section. Now I can say I have the option to ignore F.4.2 evaluation as long as I am going to anchor my tank.

F.4.3, shall be assessed regardless the result gained in 5.10.2.6. (In my case tank roof resulted as non-frangible).

Dear HTURKAK;

I didn’t get the point of your question!

In my case, internal pressure is less and F.2 through F.6 need to be applied.

Sure if internal pressure exceed tank weight, F.8 shall be applied and tank shall be anchored.

My point is simple.. I am asking your opinion ,if internal pressure exceed the weight of the shell, roof and attached structural elements ,and if the tank is not anchored , does it fly like a balon?..

Dear HTURKAK;

In simple way the answer,
IF Pi exceed weights of tank, then F.8 (mechanical-anchored) applied which ensured stability of the tank (CANNOT FLY LIKE A BALLON).
