Hi Experts,
Would you mind helping me find external temperature of tube inside a heat exchanger, how do you guys calculate?
Thanks in advance

If you don't have thermal rating data, one way is to just average the temps you do know, i.e the design temps. May be accurate enough for what you're doing, maybe not :)

Mike

The problem with sloppy work is that the supply FAR EXCEEDS the demand

Thanks, really appreciate your answer.

If you're asking how to determine the metal temperature on the OD of the tube, HTRI provides this info in the "Skin Temperature" row in the "Shellside Monitor" panel. Also see "Skin Temperature, Min/Max" in the "Final Results" panel using the shellside column.

Thanks, I will check it out
Keep helping people

The external temp of the tubing will be almost the same as design internal temp when shellside flow is near zero.
