I have saved/made a new view in solidworks via orientation window.

I would like to use the same view (i.e. the same orientation) in another file. Is there any way to export this new view to another file?!

Do you mean you want to have a copy of the same 2D drawing view on another sheet, or that you want to reproduce the orientation in another 3D model?

You could try creating a 3D sketch and orienting to the view you want an sketch a horizontal line and use Shift Arrow to rotate by 90 to drag the line which may appeardiagonal so that it shows Horizontal from top and sketch an X/Y line then make a Z perpendicular to X and Y lines.

Using the lines in this sketch you can measure the angle off def planes to recreate it in other models.

If you want that same selfometric view in all parts you can save the current part as a template to use from now on and for existing models use Insert Part to show the View for any existing model.

It doesn't have to do anything with drawing.

When you are in part or assembly mode by clicking on "view oriantation" button a small window appears on screen which includes standard views and you can also define your own.

Say you rotate your object on screen and if you are happy with its orientation then you can save it as a new view and call it later on - anytime you want.

the question is: if I have saved a new view in a part, how can I use the same one in another part or assembly file. i.e. I would like to have/export the same view/orientation in anotehr file.

Hope this is clear!

You can't. The best way I know of it set up an assembly file with the views you like. Then insert the parts or assemblies into that file. Then you can consistantly have the same view(s) including camera views for any file you have. This is how I do it anyway.

If the orientation view is derived from a parts features, you will not be able to propagate it to another part. But if the orientation angle can be created via geometry, a plane can be constrained to that geometry. That plane can then be saved in a document template and used to orient a view in new parts.

In existing parts, you will have to add the geometry and plane.
