Good Morning

Is there any setting in SolidWorks that will affect the exported models accuracy?

Thanks

what format are you going to export as or save as? iges, step, sat?

Depending on what format you save as, you can click the options button at the bottom of the "Save As" dialog box and chose what may work best as far as accuracy and best representation of the model.

Is that answer of any value?

As a graphics image, yes.

As a solid model part (dimensionally) ... not that I know of.

What are you actually trying to do? What problem(s) are you having?

We are saving the file out as a Parasolid to input into MasterCAM.

... and the accuracy of the imported-to-MasterCAM part is not sufficient?

We are seeing some tool path jumping and we wanted to see if we can clean it up with a tighter file. Just seeing what are options are.

Thanks

Check out MastercamDirect at
It is an add-on for MasterCAM which allows it to read SLDPRT files directly. No Export/import. That may eliminate your problem.

I can't seem to find it on there website.

We are still on Version 9.

Any idea where it is?

Ohh ... sorry I missed that. Didn't realize what the 'X' was. Just thought it was something to do with translation. 'X' is often used for that.

Have you tried the Multiple translator at
Have you contacted MasteCAM direct to see if they have a version for '9'?

Chris,

Post an image of the problem. We export to MasterCAM daily via Parasolid, IGES, & STEP with no problems.
