Hi,

This is my first post, I work in a teir one automotive supplier.

We have part tables on our 2D drawings we can edit individual cells but we cannot seem to be able to export the whole table.

We have found the export table option but it won't let us select the tables.

I believe the program identifies the text as a datanote even though visually it is represented as a table.

The drafter thinks the 2D drawing was created in idea's before being converted to NX we do not have access to the idea's file if it was created this way.

Is there a way round this?

p.s. I am unfamilure with NX and do not have the software on my PC I am asking on behalf of the drafter. Although it will be me manually retyping it into excel if there is no work around!

If you are talking about exporting a Part List,
This is a way I do it:

Select the Part List in your Part Navigator
Right Mouse Button - Select Export
Output Location - File
File Name - You specify where ( add .txt)!!!!!
Format - Tabs between Columns

You open a spreadsheet and add Data from Text

Hope this helps.

Hi,

thanks for the help but no this didn't work.

The parts are not in the parts list.

The 2D drawing has 2 tables on it these tables contain text that can be edited individually but the program does not see it as a table it classes the text as a data note
you can copy each text string individually but this would be no quicker to just manually retyping it. Plus I don't have cad so I would have to rely on the drafter/designer doing it and they are much too busy to do that.

If it's an actual 'Tabular Note', selecting the note itself and then pressing MB3 should give you a list of options including one the will allow you to 'Export...' the contents of the note to a text file.

If it is not a true tabular note object and the above methods don't work for you, try out the code in thread561-345523

The code isn't perfect (I only had 1 file to test on), but it should give you a good start.
