How can a user specify THREE line widths (thin, normal and thick) with CGM Export with Text set to Text (not Polylines) so that when it is imported, you can turn on Line Weights via Preferences -> Visualization and see THREE line widths matching EXACTLY as the source NX dwg?

It appears that something is either wrong with me or wrong with the software because I can get all thin or all thick or thin and thick to appear on the import but never thin, normal and thick. The ONLY entity that ever comes in as normal width is text and ALL of our text is set to thin. It's not matching up line weights 1 for 1 from the source NX drawing. It's causing TIFF images generated from our CGMs to become unreadable in our "compatible" PDM software. We've tracked it down to the weight mapping getting hosed, but beyond that, I can't seem to get a grasp on how to control it with any success. Normal widths are coming back in as thick on every single dwg.

I did read something on GTAC (IR 6729408), but I didn't see much of a resolution, only "use the next version", which we cannot do. I thought I ran into this issue long, long ago, but can't seem to find any information in my UG/NX archives - and I lost a TON from the old BBS board that I transferred from Outlook Express to Outlook.

Thanks!

What is your widths setting set to in the File > export > cgm menu ?

I've used all settings. Funny thing is that even single line width results in more than one width upon importing the cgm.

I think you should be good if you show your line widths on your drawing;
Prefernces > Visualization > line (tab), check "widths" on

That's just it Jerry - when I switch that ON and do the export, the resulting import doesn't match what was on the original drawing. There are no NORMAL widths, only thin and thick.

Anyone else have any ideas?
