190'x232' sports arena (single story). Roof is metal deck on steel trusses. The structure itself is concrete a frame (columns wand beams).

The temp range is 90 F. But the project is an area where air-conditioning (heat and cooling) may not be functional.

I can't decide if an building expansion joint is needed. I have done building upto 260' in length w/o a joint but they are in US with heating and cooling. Not sure how the factor of no heat/cool plays into it.

Per the handy-dandy graph in the AISC manual (page 2-39 in the 14th edition) a steel frame with a Delta Temp range of >75degF can go 400 ft.

JAE. Thanks. My structure is concrete so I think I should be able to go 232' w/o a joint.

Check out "Expansion Joints in Buildings" - Technical Report No. 65 by the Federal Construction Council for National Academy of Sciences, 1974. It has info on design temperature ranges based on US location, covers concrete buildings, and recommends adjustments for conditioned vs. unconditioned. If outside the US, you would have to get your design temperature range from other sources.

The typical rule-of-thumb that I've see for concrete buildings is 300', so I feel fairly certain that you're OK.
