hi,

I am conducting a non-linear analysis of a 3 bay frame with an initial sway, which is modeled as perfectly plastic perfectly elastic. the aim is to find the maximum carrying capacity of the frame.

when i run the analysis the error comes up saying that there rotz at node 76 has exceeded the limit. i don't understand why this is happening.

and also if any one could help me with the script in have attached. up until ansys reaches a load factor of (0.55)1.1 the deflections are similar to the literature results, but at this point the solution is no longer solved. i know the results should go up to 0.9 (1.8) with a deflection of 45 mm. if anyone could please help me solve the unknown issue with the script so i can get these results it would be much appreciated.

i think it may be the coupling of the nodes at the extreme corners, but this is what the example in the literature requires.

thank you

Are the literature results from an analytic solution or are you comparing to another finite element solution?
