Using SW 2007, SP5. Just now experiencing a new problem for an excel table BOM which was working properly until just recently. When I insert the excel BOM table, it appears fine in the drawing. If I regen the drawing or take another action like printing to pdf, the BOM table suddenly populates itself with multiple copies of the parts - ie parts 1-10 become 1 thru 20 with 2 instances of each part, generally in order of 1-10 then 10-1. Another regen and now its three copies of each part. The pdf copy also gets printed with the multiple instances as well.

I have re-created this particular table without fixing the problem. Other excel tables have now started doing same. I have made no fundamental changes to hardware or software from which I could explain the cause. Anyone have any ideas?

My idea would be to switch to the SolidWorks BOM. I changed 3 years after the SolidWorks BOM came out and never looked back.

Standing
SolidWorks Pro 2009 x64, SP3.0, PDMWorks Workgroup, SolidWorks BOM,
HP xw8600, 64-bit Windows Vista Business, Service Pack 1
Intel Xeon CPU, 3.00 GHz, 16 GB RAM, Virtual memory 166682 MB, nVidia Quadro FX 4600

The BOM table I use is customized with specific properties not available in standard SW BOM table. Using the SW BOM table defeats the purpose of a customized BOM table.

This was a common problem at one time. I don't believe a fix was ever issued, but the problem did go away with an update or upgrade.

Can you update to SP5.1 ?

Some people just switched to the SW BOM.
