I would appreciate if somebody could weigh in their opinion regarding the quality of Structurepoint's structural software, in particular spColumn, spMats and spFrame (previously PCA-Column, PCA-Mats and PCA-Frame). My employer has requested from me making an evaluation of these products. I want to give an educated opinion, which would not be too subjective. I have downloaded ( their evaluation copies and did my homework. It seems to me that these programs are somewhat outdated technologically. Not only GUI interface looks very archaic, but some of the calculation features are limited too. For example 10k elements limitation for spMats and its rectilinear meshing allow only for very basic modeling. All the software's seem so inconvenient to use. I understand that Structurepoint software's are not expensive, perhaps a bargain, but at the same time I would not want to rely on something which is obsolete or poor quality. Do they run stable and are they bug free at least? How about Tech Support? Any ideas and suggestions?
