Ethanol Based Antifreeze - Environol

Environol antifreeze has been suggested for our geothermal application and I was interested to see if anyone has any experience with this or a similar product. It is an ethanol mixture that that is advertised as an environmentally friendly alternative to the standard glycol solutions. The "system" impact appears to be reduced. If anyone has used this successfully, what precautions or engineered solutions allowed it to work effectively? I'd be interested to hear any other concerns or benefits. Thank you.

When I first did residential geothermal, about 20 years ago methanol was used as an antifireeze. It was banned for this use in Ontario, so we used ethanol.

Have had systems running since about 1992 on ethanol.

Take the "V" out of HVAC and you are left with a HAC(k) job.
