Hi,
I am in a spot of trouble. I am working on a machine using a 115U PLC within which is an IM308 card but the EPROM within this card has lost its contents I need to write a replacement has anyone got any ideas on calculating the address of the IO on the system?
The system uses two ET100 racks, at address 1 and 2
In rack 1 there is an analogue input card, a high-speed counter, and two digital input cards.
In rack 2 there is two analogue input cards four digital input cards and four digital output cards.
The major problem for me is calculating the start address for the four types of IO, digital in, digital out, analogue in, and analogue out, as this must be the same as the original EPROM in order to mach the code in the CPU.
I see the following immediate questions:-
1) Is a high-speed counter card a digital input card?
2) As the master rack is a 115 rack does this mean that the IO area must be P type? And what implications does that give in terms of addresses?
3) As there are Digital inputs on the main rack and the two ET100 racks does this mean the address of the digital inputs must run contiguously across all racks or is it possible to have the same address for digital cards on different racks?
If you can help with the above questions and also if you know of any other tips for calculating these addresses I would very much like to know.
Many thanks
Nick.
