Error Codes

Has anybody dealt with the error codes that define which errors are coming up on loading a part? I'm working with my VAR on implementing PDMWorks in my office and they have a pretty cool app that loads every SW file your company has and reports what little error screens come up. Unfortunately they don't have the error codes for SW2007 because SW apparently went and changed the error codes between '06 and '07 obsoleting the old list.

I would say at 90% or so (give or take some) are understood when you are building a part/assembly or drawing. There are a few that are not when you are building one of those. If you want codes the only codes are those when you install SW (

If its a code when you are building a part that's usually pretty self explanatory. If you don't understand the words Google them. If you are wanting more try looking at the SW knowledge at the SW website. Outside of that SW doesn't give you codes. That is what your VAR is there for. to help understand your problem and work through it with you. You have to give them credit though... we are all very busy and you are not their only customer for the day.

The little pop up windows (Part needs updating, <file name> was not found, file not current version) that come up sometimes when you load a part have unique code numbers attached to them defining which ones they are within SW. They don't readily appear on the window that you see in the user interface, but they are there. I understand what SW is asking for when the pop up screen comes up, but when I have an excel spread sheet that says that file name xxx-blahblah-123.sldprt reported a Error-111999 (that's an actual error code)when opened, it's not so straight forward. Given that I have some 7000 entries in this Excel spreadsheet I would liek to have some grasp of what needs to be done within these files to make them right.

Then you take that information and you put it in the SW knowledge base and you look it up there. IF it does not show, then you need to contact your VAR.
