Equipment under kitchen hood

Can anyone tell me which code and section requires all equipment under kitchen hood shall be protected by shunt trip breakers and those breakers shall be tripped via a signal from fire suppression system in case of fire? Thanks!

what family of codes is this designed under?? and edition

also some design to nfpa requriements

The codes don't dictate how you turn "it" (fuel gas or electricity) off. In the US, International Fire Code Section 904.11.2 dictates that fuel gas and electricity be shutoff upon activation of the automatic fire extinguishing system. The further dictate that whatever mechanism used to shut "it" off that it be manually reset.

While it is not mentioned in the IFC, NFPA 17A does not require this for solid fueled burning operations such as barbeque pits or smokers (thank goodness).
 
IBC 904.11.2 System interconnection. The actuation of the fire suppression system shall automatically shut down the fuel or electrical power supply to the cooking equipment. The fuel and electrical supply reset shall be manual.
