Hello to all again,

I got such a good response on my first post that I thought I would ask again. This time it is about equipment. We are looking at getting some portable IR cameras that can be used regularly by our maintenance and operating crews. We currently have a FLIR PM695 that we use for our IR inspections but wanted something a little more portable and less expensive as it will be a field tool that will likely be used as a "field tool".

Initially I looked at Fluke Ti10 but there is another company that a colleague told me to look at Irisys and the product was an IRI 4010 (I have attached the data sheet for refrence). I have no experience with this manufacturer and just wondered if any of you have? Have any of you used the Fluke? What others might you recommend and why?

I have used the Fluke TI30 camera for the hot spot finding in CE certification safety evaluation measurement.

I have measured the low emisivity painted metal door temperature around 25C with the camera. Compared with the contact J-type contact laboratory thermometer the difference was around 0,3C with. Here I used stickers with the defined emissivity but only home made IR reflector from kitchen foil to determine the RTC compensation.

Measuring the external winding of the Transformer ( about 120C) I got alway difference compared with the ThermoCouple around 1 or 2 degrees( assuming 0.97 emissivity of Tx varnish which I have never really verified ...). Here the major cause of higher difference is I am using J type TC with 1% precision so in this case the reference contact measurement is not so precise.

In summary I am very satisfied with Fluke for my temperature range I have mentioned above.
