Hi,

Before I joined consulting engineering, I had no clue that I might have to excel in to MS office packages and SQL stuff. My company does a lot of feasibility studies with basic fees up to millions of dollars. I am at a Jr position and the besign design starts from my threshold.

I was wondering, how people have been keeping track of Area number, Equipment Number, No of Transformers and etc. when it becomes exceedingly difficult to track these things.

We can even invest money in commercial available packages. I would appreciate if you have been involved in any thing similar.

Thanks

It's probably worth seeing what system the senior guys already use. Possibly you could improve on it a little. I find Access a useful application, although I barely begin to use its full capabilities. People who use Excel for database applications frustrate me - one careless 'sort' and the whole thing is screwed.
