entercept and firewalls

Hi there,
could anyone tell me is entercept carries out data encryption, data recovery and anti-virus checks, and the same question for firewall.

I know that they protect against hackers and that entercept is said to be better than firewall. If u have any more information usful infomation on either of these products that u would like to share i would very much appreciate it.
