I want to create an engraving on sheet metal wall. How can i do that?
Will it be a forming operation?
Can anyone help me in that?

Thanx in advance

Joseph

Hi Shinu,

Engraving is a metal removal process and hence can not be categorized as a Metal Forming process. You can create the engraving on a sheet metal by the following two methods:

1. Extrude cut- on a flat surface

2. Surface offset- on a curved surface.

Please note that surface offset with draftoption is not directly available in sheet metal environment. However, there is a work around to achieve this. Please see the model tree in the attached picture below and I think you can understand what I am trying to explain.

Regards,

Anand
