Engineering Competition

I'm interestd in participating in an engineering design competition. Does anyone know of any organizations that often promote competitions? I'm particularly interested in innovative design competitions. But I'd be interested in hearing any suggestions. Thanks.

Yes, I did try a search for "engineering competition." But, no, I wasn't able to get a lot of good hits on what I'm looking for. And that is why I asked.

You're not going to get good results here either unless you get a little more specific. What field? What kind of item?

You come in asking vague questions like that, you're not gonna get anywhere. If you were as vague in your web search as you were here, then no wonder you didn't find anything. And if you did use more specific keywords, then the least you could do is provide them here rather than expecting us to read your mind. I mean, are you looking at HVAC, roadway layout, segmental concrete bridges, wind towers, project management filing systems? "Engineering" and even "innovative design" are pretty meaningless terms without any context.

EngWade..most of the engineering competitions are project related and are sponsored by the major engineering societies. ASCE, NSPE, and corresponding state organizations have competitions for such projects. Most often it is the larger design firms that submit, but occasionally you'll see something, particularly if it is very innovative, from a small firm or individual.

If you have a good idea of the sort why dont you write it up in a paper format and present it at a conference. You could win paper of the year.
