I work as a chief power engineer at the iceberg arena in Sochi, which was built for the XXII Olympic Games.
I am currently developing an energy efficiency program for my facility and in order to understand how much we can improve the economy of electric energy, I want to compare our annual consumption with the consumption of North American arenas, recognized leaders in the field of energy efficiency, which are suitable for our climate conditions.
At my facilities, a total of 4 refrigeration machines with an average power of 225 kW are working to freeze ice. For maintaining the climate there are 9 refrigerators with a capacity of 200 kW each. Now three ice arenas have reached the consumption of electricity with an average load of objects - 17,500,000 kW per year. I want to understand a lot of this or a little compared to consumption in American ice arenas in roughly the same climatic zones? (Mid South USA)
Sorry for my english. Thank you in advance for your support.
