Not really a PLC question, but there are no forum categories for SCADA and I know most of you guys will (like myself) do a lot with SCADA...

I need to talk to an Enercon wind turbine. The correct way to do this is via an OPC server that communicates using the IEC 61850 standard for talking to wind turbines. Enercon even states this in some of its brochures.

The problem is, I can't get the OPC server to connect to the turbine. I know my server settings are probably wrong, but Enercon won't provide any information on what the settings need to be. I'm trying to connect using Matrikon's IEC 61850 OPC server.

Has anyone out there managed to do this before? Somebody must have, there are literally thousands of these things around the world.
