We just installed three new DRESSER-ROOTS 800 RCS-JH exhausters, Each one has two ball bearing lubricated with synthetic ISO-VG-220 Grade oil. When we started the exhausters, the oil color changed and the level went up, whe we turned off the exhausters the oil returned to its normal color and level in about 30 minutes.
We told the supply ans installation contractor to change the oil from the exhausters but he refuses saying that this is normal foaming due to air and agitation.
the manual of the exhausters says "Use a good grade of INDUSTRIAL TYPE non-detergent, rust inhibiting, anti-foaming oil and of correct viscosity ..."
I post the photos from before and after in this site:
Can anyone tell me if the exausters can operate as they are with no problem or if the oil has to be changed?. Is there any thecnical paper or code requiring not to operate an equipment in this condition? because I need to prove to the contractor that I can't receive the exhaustors that way.
