Hello everyone, i recently ran into a problem regarding plating, this is for a university project. Then thing is i dont know the proper industry criterion of electroplating the brake calipers (piston and the inner cylinder) so far i have come to know that they are plated with zinc dichromate. and the factory i contacted with are saying they dont know what kind of acid to wash them with as they are made of cast iron and our acid will rot them very fast. they told me if the acid part goes will they will plate it with nickel and then with zinc dichromate. does anyone know the actual process?
