electronic water softening

Deluded inventors frequently post information here about fallacious wonder-working electronic gadgets for water treatment. People on this forum have periodically argued back and forth as to whether these devices work or not. The reality is that there is not a single user or organization with a major investment in capital equipment (ie boiler for power generation) requiring water treatment that uses one of these devices.
