Effective length factor K2 in SAP 2000

Hi there,
According to the American codes, we can assume the value of K2 relates to bracing in the ends. do we have a more specific method? because some designers use the values k2=1.8 or 1.5 for pinned-free ends.

What does K2 represent? Is it the same K that could be used to compute Pestory in the AISC Specification Appendix 8.2? If so, then that would be the sway uninhibited K from Figure C-A-7.2, which has no upper bound.
 
Also, keep in mind that if you're using something along the lines of "The Direct Analysis Method", then you can set K = 1.0 regardless of end conditions.
