effect of vibration of generator on adjacent building footings

my building foundations are at a distance of 6" from generator foundation. how to assure that machine foundations are not transferred to building foundation.

How much do these things vibrate? If they're enough to worry about, there's more of a problem with the equipment than the soil.
We put these things in buildings all the time, and I don't consider them.
